WEST DES MOINES, IA – The environment in Iowa still strongly favors Republicans, as the generic congressional ballot is now at 14 points. The final ITR Foundation Poll before the election found:
- Governor Kim Reynolds’ lead dropped a bit to 19 points from 21 points in the early October poll.
- Senator Chuck Grassley’s slightly dipped to 11 points from 14 points in early October.
- State Attorney General Tom Miller now leads by 2 points after trailing Republican Brenna Bird in early October by 3 points.
- The top issue remains inflation as abortion has dropped in importance.
ITR President Chris Hagenow said, "As election day draws near, the political environment for Republicans in Iowa remains strong. In every iteration of the ITR Foundation Poll this year, both Governor Kim Reynolds and Senator Chuck Grassley have held double-digit leads over their Democrat opponents."
Hagenow added, "The race for Attorney General remains a toss-up. The last three ITR Foundation polls have indicated a statistical dead heat between Democrat incumbent Tom Miller and Republican challenger Brenna Bird."
