Chris Hagenow is the President of Iowans for Tax Relief (ITR), leading Iowa’s premier taxpayer advocacy organization in the fight for limited government, lower taxes, and greater economic freedom. A lifelong Iowan and graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa College of Law,

Chris brings a wealth of legal, legislative, and leadership experience to his role. Before joining ITR, Chris served twelve years in the Iowa House of Representatives, where he was known for his principled leadership, ultimately rising to serve as House Majority Leader. During his time in office, he was a driving force behind many conservative reforms, including efforts to reduce Iowans’ tax burden and promote individual freedom.

Chris and his wife, Amanda, have three children and live in Urbandale.
